Fresh versions of Mac & WinGizmo5 released

We just released fresh versions of Gizmo5 for both Macintosh and Microsoft Windows. Both versions have numerous bug fixes, so if you want more reliable Gizmo5 clients please upgrade to them. Sometime over the next 2 days the auto-upgrading feature will offer to upgrade your software upon launch of all current versions of Gizmo5, which means no need to manually download and install.

  4. Yeah. Pulseaudio support please. The new version of Skype has it, there's no reason Gizmo shouldn't.

  5. Why would I use Gizmo over Skype or VoIP service?
I do not particularly like Vonage or Lingo (former provider), but for a monthly fee I can call 24/7 and there is no per minute charges calling landlines in US Canada and several other EU countries. So for personal use or business use VoIP can't be beaten on rates say you work in office 5 days a week for 8 hours a day in 30 days your total call minutes will end up being [(8h/day x 5days/week) x 4 week] x 60min = 9600 min/Mo. At this pace a month of calls in US will set you back $182.4 and that includes no fax service. Well not every office is constantly on the phone unless you provide call-center style support. But even making calls 4 hours a day for 5 days/week you will still pay $91.2... I'll try it but not convinced is any better than existing solutions though.
